i just did a cold compression test on the motor i got not install and thats the compression what do you guys think is wrong please help

 

could be a stuck or bad ring. does it smoke?

It could be a number of things. Like ^ he said is it smoking? Blue smoke = burning oil, white smoke = burning coolant which means a blown headgasket. Is the oil milky and mixed with coolant at all?

 

you start the car? you have to crank the engine to check compression. Do a leak down test to see if its the valve. if not it might be a worn ring or a bad gasket. add a little oil into the low compression piston, I mean just a little drop and redo your test again, Should seal the rings a little and see if the compression goes back up.

 

i got the motor alone ,no shell i did the compression test with a battery to the starter so i dont really know if it smokes are not i will try to add some oil and see if it seals up
