i have a antifreeze leaking problem and need help
I have replace my thermostat and my lower radiator hose that goes from the bottom of my radiator to like close to the intake manifold because i thought i might have a small crack or something in the hose because it was stock. But it just doesnt make sense to me it will be ok for a while and whenever i go to park it i look underneath and i show that there is some antifreeze on the ground dripping from underneath and when i look under there it i cant see really where anything is wrong but it is like dripping off of the transmission? is there anyone who can help me with what they think it is? Please and Thank You
We cannot see your car. What you need to do is find the wet spot on the bottom of the car and trace it up until you find out exactly where it is coming from. Clean & dry everything if you have to and wait for it too leak again so you can find the spot it is coming from. Then maybe take some pictures or just post on here where it is originates.
i know you cant see it i was just asking to see if anyone else has had a leak like this or has heard of it and what they know about it
It's been my experience that coolant leaks, if not immediately visible, will most likely require pressure to show their ugly face. So I recommend you clean the engine bay, and pressure test the system (requires a special pump tool). This should shed some light.
Now some of the places where I've had coolant leaks in my never-ending struggle to fix the system.
1. Top metal/plastic seal of the stock rad
2. Upper rad hose burst, near engine
3. Connecting piece between upper rad hose & engine
4. Neck piece of rad, where lower rad hose connects
5. Stock rad cap
Good luck. I've replaced the rad, the upper&lower rad hoses, the rad cap, and welded the metal nozzle where the upper rad hose connects to the engine. I'm still leaking, but instead of leaking 1 gallon ever 3 days, I'm leaking 1 gallon every 2-3 months.

my guess would be that the leak is comming from underneath the thermostat housing and dripping on to the tranny...thus making it seem like its comming from the tranny...happend to me before
first off, is the hose on there nice and tight ? Did you clean off the thermostat housing where the hose slides on ? Alot of times it gets very corroded there. Are the bolts on thermostat housing tight ? Also did you replace the gasket that sits around the thermostat ? I forget if that gasket seals or not....does anyone know ?
