There is no such thing as a CTR rear lip for a coupe unless it's a replica.

this is a post on oassjdm says oem might be for a hatch but the rear bumpers are the same on a hatch and a coupe

 

and y would it have to be a replica if they make an oem type r lip for the hatch then its obviously for the coupe too....

 

well as far as i knew there is a type r rear lip but it was for the hatch, not the coupe. they only made the ctr in a hatchback model. the hatchback rear bumpers are different then the coupes and the lip would only fit a hatchback for that reason. far as i knew they were not as long on the sides. but maybe that only went for 92-95. 92-95 and 96-00 should be seperated on here, not together.

if the bottom lineing of the rear bumper on a coupe and hatch are the same and a lip made for the hatch will fit perfectly on a coupe also then that is somethin i did not know. if so, hell yea becuase i have a coupe and wanted the ctr front and rear lip but didnt think the rear would work since it is for a hatch. i guess before buying one, do lots of research before hand.

 

Coupe and sedan rear bumpers are the same. Hatch rear bumpers are shorter.

I have a coupe and a hatch in my garage right now. I see them all the time.
They're not the same. Hatch bumpers are shorter along the sides.

You need a coupe and/or sedan rear lip.

Because "EK" is technically the Japanese hatchback. Everyone here just likes to refer to all of their 96-00 usdm civics as "ek's."

 

An EK is technically (some) '95-'00 Civic hatches and sedans. All coupes were EJs (and the EM1 Si). Hatches are EJs and EKs. Sedans are EJs and EKs (and the rare US EN1).

US '96-'00 Civics are the EJ6 (CX hatch, DX coupe/hatch/sedan, LX sedan, VP sedan), EJ7 (HX coupe), EJ8 (EX coupe/sedan), EM1 (Si coupe) and EN1 (GX sedan).

"EK" is commonly used to refer to any of the following though:
- '96-'00 Civics in general
- '96-'00 Civic hatches in general

As mentioned, an EK can only really be some 6G Civic hatches and sedans though. EKs are sold in many markets, including Japan, Australia, Europe and South America.

Not all EKs have high horsepower engines either. The EK1, for example, has a D16Y5 (1.6L SOHC VTEC-E / "HX" engine).

 

there's no such thing as a ctr rear lip for coupe thats why there's the honda civic si em1 parts they make em1 rear lip a little pricey but there oem and discontinue

 

I went thru hell finding an EM1 rear lip and it was stolen from me in Atlanta lol got one from jdmshit it it looks fine to me

 

That's what I just said.
An optional coupe/sedan rear lip is not like the EK9 hatch rear lip.

There is no such thing as an Si front or rear lip either btw. The front lip is standard on the Si, but optional on all US coupes (and will fit any '99-'00 front). The rear lip is optional on all '99-'00 US coupes, including the Si.

They're not comparable.

There are fakes of both though.

The optional front and rear lips aren't around to replace the CTR lips though. They're just there because most Hondas have optional front and rear lips available.

All '96-'00 lips are discontinued, but you can still find some if you try. Trust me, there are plenty of discontinued parts which are a lot more difficult to find than the '99-'00 front or rear lips.
