Default Need help, please..

Hey guys im fairly new to the honda scene, and i was wondering, i have a jdm ls with a jdm b16 transmission that is goin into my ek hatch. Im not sure on what ecu to get and what's needed. If anyone can please help me on which ecu will work. I also heard something about the jdm motors have no crank sensor so i need to do something in order for it to work. Any info on this will much be appreciated.

Thanks.

You probably should buy a chipped obdII ecu with a factory map but where the cps is deleted or you'll probably have cel or some running issues. Ive never really seen a chipped obdII ecu (not that ive ever looked) but Im sure there out there. You can also get a obdII to obdI conversion harness then spend a measly 115 bucks (from jdm-james) and you can have your ecu chipped to however you like it. I would stay close to stock fuel and ignition maps though but you could set your rev limiter a lil higher and take off the speed limitation.

I have a obdII block in my eg, the cps just isnt hooked up, not that theres a need too seeing how its obdI. A stock obdII usdm ecu will want the cps hooked up. You could just add that sensor also.

So theres no need to do anything with cps as long as i step down from obd2 to obd1, correct?

Get up with jdm-james he'll hook you up. He just made me a stock p30 map (jdm b16) with closed loop, no speed limiter, 8500 redline, and a few other goodies for 115. Granted its a p06 (usdm d15 nonvtec), but most people charge at least 150-185 for the same thing. Once you get this ecu, you can have a dif chip (other tunes for turbos, cams, etc..) or you can get a adapter and run hondata, crome, ectune, and many others. So its definetly the way to go.

Oh yeah, you wont be able to get it inspected with a obdI ecu, unless they dont hook up the obdII scanner.
