Default oxygen sensor problem.

my oxygen sensor started having problems with lights indicating a fews weeks ago. i ordered a new one and fixed it yesterday . but now my car won`t run normal. it`s not acceleratin the way it should and after awhile it totally slows down to about just 3mph that i would turn the car off . but after awhile it picks up again just to go back to the same spot.
the auto guy that changed the sensor didn`t reset the computer after he was done..is this the reason for this? and pls is there a way i can reset the computer myself. i don`t have a manual anymore.
pls somebody help asap.don`twant any auto or dealer to rip me off again .thankz.

Disconnect your battery for a couple of minutes and before you re-connect it, hit your brake pedal for a few seconds to drain any residual power left in the system.

Just curious, what was the code for the check engine light? Or why did you have to change the O2 sensor?

When you reset the ECU you should let your car idle for a few minutes to let the car re-learn idle

thanx, i did it. don`t know if i did it properly..i disconnected d battery like u said, hit d brake pedal.but i think i forgot to let the car remain idle for a few mintues.
i took the car to autozone today for a diagnoses-check n it passed. but to my surprise on my way back i accelerated to about 50mph at about 4500 n it started moving slow again even though i had my foot on the acceleration pedal. so i turned it off for a mintue and on again n the caar started shaking.i had to quickly shot it off n waited about 10 mins to start d car again, it started well this time but i kne the problem was still there. mind you, there was no engine light or any light on...... i was able to get home without any problem on low speed.
what do u think i should do now?
about your question; i don`t know the code for the check engine light. i changed d 02 sensory because the engine light came on and after the diagnose-chack i did from autozone it indicated the problem was my oxygen sensory.....

Damn I don't know man. If it's shaking it could be missing. I had a car once that had a loose spark plug and it shook bad. Let me know what it is when you find it
