Icon3 Hatchback specialists

Hi there, I'm new to this forum, but I've been involved in forums before so I'm aware bout the SEARCH option and the fact that most questions have been asked millions of times.

Now my first question I haven't been able to find an answer for it unfortunately. It's pretty simple, what the hell is my car's model ? EG8, EG9, EH2, EH3 ? I mean, I've been to wikipedia and it should be EH2 or EH3 since I drive a 1995 Civic HB. Can anyone clear that out for me please ?

Second, it's kind of technical but anyways, a friend gave me an aftermarket cluster ( see the link below ). I plugged it in and suddenly I've got RPM ! Way to go, but my gas needle only reaches 3/4 even though the tank is full. There also is a lag between me pushing the pedal and the needle moving for RPM. I can live with the lag, but for the gas I thought I could open it up making sure I don't break any clips and put the arrow at " FULL ", the car really being filled up, and putting it back in. How does that sound ?

PICTURE OF THE CLUSTER

Thank you for your help,

There is a lot of information in the FAQ thread that is stickied at the top of the forum.

Here is an actual 1992-1995 JDM Civic SiR:

That cluster is almost identical to the picture you posted...you're sure its an aftermarket cluster?

Usually the clusters are calibrated by Honda with special instruments that maintain accuracy of the gauges. I don't think it will perform the same if you attempt to move it manually.

Then the best option would probably for me to put the original one in, maybe with a white back instead and get a separated tachometer ?

Thanks again,

there are adjustment screw on the back of the cluster that you can also turn to adjust. Just be extremely carefull well doing so.

Thanks again,
Fill the gas tank completely, remove the clear plastic face from the cluster, pull the gas guage needle off, start car, let it run for a few minutes, stick needle back on as far up as it will go, this should be a little above the full line, out everything back together.
