how do i get the main bearing cap off the block? i took the bolts off, the oil pump is off, all that is in the block know is the crankshaft and the main bearing cap help plz.

 

if it's what i think you're talking about just tap (gently) on the sides with a rubber or hard plastic mallet and it will come off. there's some dowels holding it on, i think. atleast that's how it was on a LS i took apart.
