Default Battery Drain

New to this site, so thanks in advance for any help...

Anyways, I have an 07 odyssey touring. If I have the engine off and the key set to accessory the battery is dead in about 15 minutes. I was cleaning out the car with the radio on and after 15 minutes, dead. This was about 3 months ago. Brought it in to the dealer and they said the battery was fine.

So it happened again this morning. Brought it back in to the dealer and he said with all the tech on the touring you cannot run it on accessory for more than 15 minutes. This sounds wrong to me. Is he right?
Thanks again,
Steve

The RES (rear entertainment system) does put a big drain on the battery.

Have your dealer test the battery and replace it. Honda has about 4 years worth of garbage batteries out on the road right now.

or you can go to your local autozone/ advance autoparts for them to load-test the battery on the parking lot for free...

they'll even print out the results for you & then you can take it to your dealer for your warranty replacement

Or skip the middle man and go to the dealership where the test is free anyway??

Yep we have to test every car that comes into our shop at honda free of charge. Charging system test is a different story but still cheap for customers

Or consider upgrading to a better battery like an Optima.

This thread is going to make me pull my hair out.

Why would you go and buy an overpriced Optima when you can get a upgraded battery free from Honda?

Because Honda batteries are crap (even if free or prorated) and will only last 3-4 years. Not worth leaving family stranded over a battery.

The replacement batteries are much better than the factory ones. Heck I just replaced the 60 month battery that came out of my CR-V and it was over 7 years old.
