Default wtf is up with this crank?

Is there something wrong with this crank? If so how can I fix it? (besides being dirty lol)

Is there anything I should look for? Also how do you differentiate a H23 crank from an H22?

If you can "see" a problem, then it's likely toast - The tolerances on a crank are very tight... but - a machine shop can often resurface bearing issues (as mentioned above). But, when you put it back together, you will need to use bearings designed for this. The machine shop will machine 10 thousandths or something metric off and the parts shop can order your bearings with the same spec (ie..10 thousandths over).

If it is bent or other damage it is very difficult to fix. If you start spinning a crank assembly at 7000 RPM and it is bent or out of balance, there will be terrible vibration followed by a the spectacular appearance of an oil slick on the road (in James Bond Style).

Its just the bearings. The crank is otherwise fine. Ive been looking for oversized H23 bearings would Honda have them?

so you are trying to say that the crank in these pictures is "otherwise fine."

sure....if you like using reground cranks that originally looked like they went through hell and back. 1) There are metal shavings all over the crank 2) look at the main seal journal, there are two grooves of shittastic love 3) you can find good used cranks for under the amount of money it would take a machine shop to get that crank even close to what "I" would call useable. Those mains have excessive wear and i would not reuse it even if a machine shop could regrind it.

I cant find them around here. Local junk and salvage yards either dont have one or want a bagillion dollars for one. "not so civic" has one on here for cheap.
