what all do i need to swap my sohc d16y7 non-vtec head to a d16y8 vtech head with the solonoid to make my engine fully vtec?....do i need the head,harness and ecu or what? can someone help me out PLEASE before this head gets sold!!!!!!!!!! THANKS

you need the head, intake manifold and ECU, you will either need to add the vtec and knock sensor wiring, OR use an EX harness. both the intake manifold and harness are different between automatic and manual, and between '96 - '98 and '99 - '00.

 

thanks man because this dude has a vtec head for sale and he said all i needed was the head but i just wanted to make sure cuz im not the familiar with vtec

 

should i swap my D16y7 sohc out for a B16 DOHC vtec or a B18 DOHC vtec? which has better power cuz the d16 i have now sucks ***
