There's plenty of room, check out the EG forum's faq's for the H22 swap info, that'll give you a good idea of where to cut the holes for the cables.

Email me and I will send you a picture that will explain it all. But below is the lil How To. Correct there is tons of room for the Cable Shifter Assembly to sit up in the exhaust tunnel without even being close to the exhaust.

- Use the stock EF shifter hole as a center for the Cable Shifter Assembly Shifter.

- Cut 1 large hole for the Cable Shifter Assembly and Cables to peek up through. ASK for my picture it will clue you in.

- Bolt or Weld 2 home made brackets to the Cable Shifter Assembly. Make sure they are strong enough to hold the unit up and can be bendable so you can bend them when final installing.

- Once centered somewhat, and held tight up against the exhaust tunnel from below. Jack works good for the cable shifter assembly to be held up tight against the exhaust tunnel for fitting.

- Install the EF CRX stock console, hook up the cables.

- Make sure that it goes into all gears without touching the EF Crx console. It may take a few test fitments before having it perfect.

- Then once happy, Bend the brackets into place and bolt up the Cable Shifter Assembly to the car from below in the exhaust tunnel. Simply Drill and bolt up.

- Make sure to screw in or bolt up in the tunnel, 2 short metal screws and a homemade bracket to keep the cables up from touching the exhaust system. Roughly a foot up forwards towards the front of the car will work.

- Make sure to guide the cables between the rear cross member and firewall for additional length available.
