Default b16a2 bogging?

so i did a b16a2 swap into a 98 civic and it runs on a p28 ecu at the moment it drives and doesnt die at the idle but every once ina while the idle drops down and jumps up for a little bit of time, then sometimes when street driving, if i give it gas it makes a puttering noise and doenst really accelerate, and then all of a sudden will take off like if there was no problem again. i am not getting any check engine lights either.

isnt a p28 chip for a single cam vtec car only? im pretty sure it is. however, why put it with a b16? shouldnt it run with a p30 chip? or unless you can chip it because the computer isn't throwing enough fuel for your motor. its only throwing enough fuel for the single cam and its thinking that your motor is a single cam.

the p28 ecu is one of the best ecu's to use with almost any motor for tuning. you need it chipped with a b16 base map and tuned for the mods you have on your car. i had a jdm b16 chipped and tuned on crome and it worked very nice

I have a mild build B16 with a P28 ECU as well. I had mine chipped by Kenji.

def could be your problem because when i first used the P28 it had a all motor fully built GSR chip in it. One call to Kenji with my list of mods, and the difference was noticeable instantly. Still had to do some minor tuning and adjustments of course but def check this out...

I have a b16 with a p28 chipped and it runs really good, if your looking for someone to chip yours phearable.net is really good and they will do it for you for $75 just ship it to him and you will have it back in a week or you can buy one chipped from him for $175. But like some others said a p28 is a great ecu you just need it chipped to run the b16 and then it should work fine. By the way just to check you should know that you need to put a resistor on for your injectors if you are running the stock b16 injectors, if you didn't your ecu could/will be fried.
