hey i have a 93 del sol with a b16 swap and i boosted it..but i wanted to put a boost controller that i have but i don't know how to hook it up....it's a simple contoller that you adjust by hand...i know you hook up one line to the waste gate but what about the othe one?

 

manual boost controller... one to wastegate the other one to manifold...

what boost controller are u using any pix, cause u gotta knoe which one goes where...

This is exactly how a boost controller works. A Vacuum line from manifold is connected to the wastegate. The wastegate is simply a diaphram on a spring. When the boost pressure reaches the wastegate it releases when the spring is overpowered by that particular pressure. If you have a 10psi spring in your wastegate then obviously it will release pressure at 10 psi. However, a boost controller is connected between the vacuum source and the wastegate. This adjustable valve hinders the reference vacuum allowing the wastegate to stay open. Thus, increasing boost pressure.

but when i hook up the line to the intake manifold it sounds loud like if my wastegate was always open is it soppose to sound like that? the pic i don't have but this one looks just like it

 

beware of these boost controller .. it will spike and boost like crazy!!!

that looks like a boost controller from Blamo! the way it has "High Performance" on the side...=P

 

its better if you connect the WG to the Turbo.

 

A boost controller can't lower boost pressure, it can only raise it. The internal spring is what sets the reference. The controller only manipulates the vacuum raising the boost pressure.

If you are hooking up the MBC and it is running wastegate pressure, then either it's not adjusted or the MBC's internal valve is not working.

Question: Do you have an internal or external wastegate?
