Streetable HP - What is overkill for a non drag raced motor.
Well over the course of the following weeks I'm going to compile all the parts needed for my buildup. Given the fact I dont have too strict of a budget for this project I'm finding myself asking if I'm over building my motor for 'what i want'. What do i want. Well a 2.0 GE sleeved B18C(B) block, hondata 2b, 9:1 pistons and matching rods, limited slip, and all the standard goodies and treats, but on ***** 93 Octane and a/c ******. It seems a lot of people here are wanting a numerical hp number. I merely want something thats just overpowering a set of nice 16" tires with my limited slip ( i figure a LS tranny will help with traction). The car is going to be used for occasion road race/autox use, but mainly for an a/c'd ride in the summer. Sorry for the incoherent rambling. I just want a realistic streetable hp range given the planned mods. I dont want to build a 500hp capable vehicle if i can drive it on the street with an unusable powerband, just seems like there dimished returns in some of the high boost/ big turbo setups.

I would say around 350whp is about as much as you would need (or be able to use on street tires). But after you have 350 I'm sure you will want more.

Chidoks knows all about high horsepower street cars. You have an 11 second street tired Integra don't you.
Guess you haven't found a scanner yet huh?
I would have to agree with 350whp. I can't see any more than that being real usuable on the street.
