i know it usually means a blown head gasket...coolant burns white out the exhaust...

compression is fine, oil looks fine...coolant is semi dirty...can't really tell if there's oil of not

what else could white smoke mean? engine runs pretty rough

 

Moisture buildup in the intake perhaps?

 

update...there's actually oil coming out the exhaust...pure oil dripping from the header/test pipe joint...and no, its not leaking from somewhere, its actually coming from inside the header....

Could your valvetrain be leaking oil into the exhaust ports?

It's the only way I can think of oil getting into your manifold, besides bad pistons rings.

in the process of pulling the head...

i probably blew a ring...but we'll see....its a brand new motor so i dont think the valvetrain would be leaking

how do you tell if a ring is blown?

 

pulled the head, can't see anything...

i have a spare short-block...so its gonna go in

import races are friday should be interesting to see if i can get it done

 

btw: how can you tell if a head gasket is blown???

 

if you have oil in your exhaust it's a bad exhaust valve seal.

 

you run nitrous on this motor dont you?

I wouldnt think so. Unless his FPR went bad. My car runs a 14.1:1 A/F ratio when my Zex kit is on.

I'd be comfortable with 13:1 when spraying... and 13.5:1 when NA...
