Default Exhaust size question.

Hey im looking at a single Megan catback, they come in 2.5" and 3". I know for civics running N/A its not good to go more then 2.5 becuase of no back pressure but can you do 3" on a N/A s2?

The reason i dont want to get the megan 2.5 is that in the end of summer im planning of boosting it and i will need 3" exhaust for that. I really dont want to buy the 2.5 in spring use it for 3 months then try to sell it and get the megan 3".

What do you guys think of running a 3" exhaust piping on a stock N/A S2?

buy a 3.0 and dont put it on until you have the turbo on. First ask your self this question. Are you ready for boost?

Megan sucks! Wait till you go turbo if you insist on putting that crap on your car.
Overall, yes a 3" exhaust will hurt the S2000's performance.

buy the 3", and have it installed with a resonator in the middle. Have the resonator replaced with a test pipe when you are ready for boost.

boost your car first... but this isnt a civic, the cost of a turbo for the S is around the price of a used civic... and then worry about an exhaust...

Theres a nice berk technology exhaust on s2ki for sale for 600 which is a steal and has great gains for a exhaust for the s2000!

not true...you can lose power with single just as much as a dual. it all goes on the design of the exhaust. single design will essentially save weight.

Single will always have better power gains. Duals are for fuels.

Yeah i know i know, its just the only one ive seen with the aggressive angle. btw i had one on the civic for 3 years with out a problem, sound and the performance out of it was great.

Dont you think it looks sexy on a dummped nfr S2?

Sound like the best solution. Will it help with the backpressure?

the megan angle is way too agressive and looks like poo. but im geussing you like that kinda thing so just get a 3inch and call it a day. If you run the stock header and cat I dont think you will loose any power.

Back pressure is a myth its all about the ideal exhaust flow. if the piping is too big the exhaust flow gets interupted same goes if its too small. its been proven over and over again that a 70mm (2.75") single gets the best midrange/top end power on an na s2k. for turbo I would go 3" or bigger depending on turbo size and psi.

you have got to be kidding me. I would pick the hks dual over the megan any day. and dont get me wrong I love the single look i actually own a single with a slight angle but the megan in my opinion just looks liek complete trash

you say youre plannin on boost at the end of the summer, i did the same thing. make damn sure youre ready ta spend paper cause s2killas right, boostin our car WILL cost ya the price of a used civic believe me it did. as for the exhaust, ive gone through 4 and never even considered putting my eyes on a pos megan exhaust. do the car right and put somethin good on your car like it deserves. if indeedy you ARE ready for boost start buyin parts now and keep your new exhaust til the whole picture is ready for assembly
