I have 2.25" exhaust on my car, I ordered a resonator, but I recieved 2.5 instead of 2.25. Would it be alright to use this with a smooth step down to 2.25? I really need to install this, and I dont want to send it back and wait for another one to come.

 

get a piece of 2.25" pip about 4" long and have half of it flared to 2.5 and the weld it on like that...do it to both ends and it should be fine!
