how do i get the axle out of the half shaft?it seems that prying it wont work. is there a special trick to doing this?

 

this happened on my rt4wd wagon. i just took a pry bar & stuck it between the axle/int shaft. then pushed the pry bar so it pressed the axle out. didnt happen the first turn but eventually came out. remember to push not pull

 

it may help to hit the end of the pry bar with a hammer, kind of like using a hammer to break a bolt loose by tapping on the end of the wrench

 

I got a "special tool" from autovalue to take out both of my axles, i bought it, used it and got my money back, sorry i can't come up with a name or anything.
