y8 oil pump shim

Is there anyway to do the oil pump shim on the y8 without taking the pump itself off? Seems like a pain to get the pump itself off.

no you need to actually get to the pump and remove the screw. while its off you should take it apart and make sure all the tolereances are in spec and clean up the rough castings.
