Turbo for an H22a
nothing - if you keep the boost down
but some low compression pistons would be a good start

but if your running low amounts of boost just your basic turbo kit.. plus a thing or two.. injectors, ecu, etc
look to spend lots of money i'm thinkin of sellin my h22 and gettin a h23 and boostin it
and btw hondata2b is all ya need stage 3&4 are just extra's though the data logging feature would be nice

It seems to me that more people boost an H23 rather than an H22.What are the advantages and disadvantages?Isn't the only difference .1 liter of displacement and VTEC? And isn't the h22a more powerful to start with?
Edit: I was planning on swapping an H22a in a few months but now I'm really leaning more towards turbo too.I was gonna boost the H22a.

What are the advantages and disadvantages?
-Cheaper than H22
-0.1 liters of displacement makes a big difference when boosting
-Getting VTEC and boost to get along requires a stand-alone.
The H23a is DOHC non-VTEC ? Correct? What is the stock hp rating on the H23A?
160hp 158ft/lbs.

So why wouldn't you want to start out with 200HP on an H22A then?

As stated before. You can run way more boost on an H23 than H22. That engine is screaming, "Turbo me, PLEASE." Plus is so much cheaper, has more build potential since it has more displacement.
Ok ,are you going to be able to boost enough to overcome the 40 HP difference between the two motors?
How much cheaper is the H23?
Which engine"boosted" will make the most power with similar setups-period?

I'm pretty sure you can boost an H23 on 93 octane and some timing retardation, to about 12psi. That, on average comes out to 100+whp.
I'm sure you can find an H23 w/o tranny for around $500. Plus add the fact that you dont have to throw in a stand-alone.
If you have unlimited resources, and drop the H22 compression, I'm pretty sure the H22 will put out more.

Their are 2 types of ECU "chipping" or "tuning." Piggy back, or Stand-alone. They are pretty self explanatory. A piggy-back unit is just an add-on to your ECU and has limited options and features. A stand-alone completely replaces your ECU and has many more programming options and features.

.. that boy is good!!!!!!!!!!but yah i have gotten a H22 and am boosting it.. it has run a bit more money then the guys i know with h23's. ... i had to get lower compression pistons.. which with them and rods will be a pretty penny.. now i have to get the block resleeved becasue the forged pisons cant just be "put in" and that is going to run 500-1000 depending if i want to send it to someone who knows that they really doing (cost 1k) or take it to a well known and quit reptable guy intown and pay 500-600.. but
its all up to you. .oh yeah then another 3k on a turbo kit
