Default Cast manifold Question

Hey i just got my cast manifold and the hole for the 38mm wastegate is not 38mm. Do i need to dremel it out to the 38mm or can i leave it alone. Its only a little bit smaller. thanks

it is probably set up for a 35mm wastegate, alot of the older kit ran 35mm tials, you should be fine if you leave it but if you want you can take off the 3mm

The venturi effect allows the same amount of air to exit a 35mm hole as does a 38mm hole, only with a little more speed. I'm guessing the restriction is all of 1/2" long total. Its really a smaller WG valve, narrow & long pipes feeding the WG, and (most important) wastegate location that will lead to boost creep on a cast mani.

If you plan on running a stright T3 on a 2.0L you'd want to grind it out, otherwise its just a 1/2 hour of dirty work to feed your peace-of-mind.
