Default JDM B20 into a 00 Civic SI EM1

I have a question. I'm putting a JDM B20 in my 00 Civic.

I'm wanting to know what wiring harness will work for this swap?

Could the USDM CRV harness work? or do I need the 99-00 SI harness?

And also on the ECU, will I just have to get it chipped and disable knock sensor?

Thanks guys!

I would continue to use the si harness in case you ever decide you want to run a B20 Vtec setup so you will have all the wiring in advance.

As for the knock sensor yes do have it disabled with your chip, it isnt needed and overall detunes the ecu.

Cool, but what ECU would be best for getting it chipped?
I will be going boost later down the line and would like something that will help me later.

And I will never go B20/V. Sounds stupid, but not really dealing with Vtec at the moment. Will I still need the 99-00 SI harness? or will the CRV harness work since it is a B20?

trust me keep the SI harness in it. eventually you will wanna go faster and put a vtec head on it. i dont know why you would never go that route it is an amazing setup for boost if done correctly.
As for the ecu is it a OBD1 or OBD2 motor? i reccomend going with a chipped p28

Not sure if it's an OBD1 or OBD2. Aren't all CRV OBD2?

Now whats really the difference between a P28 and a p75?

And I don't have any harness at the moment, so I will need to spend the extra $$ on the SI :-(

oh i thought you had the harness and yes now that i think about it im sure all b20's are OBD2. the P28 is an OBD1 ecu and the P75 is OBD2. in your case the P75 would be easiest so you dont have to buy a conversion harness

I already have the harness, but can go both ways. OBD2 or OBD1.

I was told to go OBD1 because it would be a lot easier with CEL. Less headaches to go thru the swap.

But the P28 is a bit more expensive. Should I invest the extra $$ on it?

YES. OBD1 is by far much easier to work on as far as CEL's and emissions and stuff. it is also much more tunable in its own way because of this. a chipped p28 at most should cost you around 120

Thats not bad. I'll probably go that route.

As far as the harness, will the CRV work? I guess I'm just asking what wiring harness are compatible with the B20 and my car?

I know what your saying about Vtec, but I personally won't be going that route anytime soon. I will hopefully be going B20/Boost. Hoping 5-7lbs the most. Just a fun daily.

If you go with the P28 ECU (OBD1) you will need a conversion harness to go to your motor harness which you seem to be leaning towards OBD2. you can use pretty much any OBD2 harness from a DOHC motor.

Yes, I should be going with the P28 since I already have the jumper harness (OBD2b to OBD1)

Thats weird. I was told the CRV won't work, but they guy trying to sell me one kept insisting it would. I thought it was just to make a quick buck, but I guess I was wrong.

I owe you a lot. Thanks so much for your help!
