Default leaky hatch

I have a 96 hatch and everytime it rains the spare tire area always fills up with water. I can tell it's coming from behind the rear quarter panel plastics. The car is stock so no one has messed with it so I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem. Maybe I won't have to remove half my interior to find out what the problem is

Have a friend pour water on your car and check where the water is coming from

I would have to pull the interior plastics off to we see where it's coming from. I just wanted to see if anyone already solved this problem so it's a easy fix

its most likely the seals that go behind the taillights.. thats what my problem was anyway. i have a 96' hatch also. just get some new ones, or make some and you should be good to go!.

I have a little '89 Integra... I only bought it recently... Don't know anything about it, but its the one with pop up head lights..... mine fills up with water too. I was raging about it for days, still don't know what to do. I'm seeing a lot of comments about the tail light seals. I was either gonna sell it or abandon it, but if its just the tail light seals, maybe she gets another chance. If its not that, any other ideas?

its the weather stripping that goes around the hatch or the trunk. Change it

It is a VERY COMMON problem for the taillight gaskets to leak on all 96-00 hatchbacks.

Go to the dealership and buy new ones. They are cheap.

I changed mine 6 months ago and haven't had a single drop of water in the back since. And now I don't have to hear whining from people in the back that their *** is wet.
