Default Anyone with a 96+ hatch got a trunk leak, too?

I have had to take out my spare and other material becuase the rain gets in baddd. The dealer plugged the squirter hole and thought it was fixed. I see no water marks on the panels or glass. I suspect that the tail-light gaskets are to blame, but I gotta go buy some new ones, wait till it rains, and see how it works. Anyone got any tips or experience?

This is a very common problem for 96-00 hatches. If you search around on here, I'm sure you'll find how to correct the problem.

Mine leaks as well. I bought new gaskets but upon inspection, water collects in the very bottom section of the taillight inside the assembly itself and then it seems to drain out thru drain holes. This saturates the gaskets and the water leaks out onto the interior, it seems. I think all the ppl experiencing this might have to re-seal their taillights.

I had the same problem. New gaskets solved it. Gaskets are cheap, change the once every 1.5 - 2 years and keep your trunk dry.

When I took off my taillights, there were condensation built up inside it. But not filled with water. That's the best I could remember.

what did you tighten down? the nuts that hold the taillight to the car? or the screws on the taillight itself?

update: I installed the new taillight gaskets that I bought from Honda and the driver side taillight seems to be leaking still. Theres a little bit of water getting in but the passenger side, below the taillight seems to be dry. I have no clue now...
