Y5 Head for free now what ?
Whats up H-T my buddy works at a shop and he called me up saying he had a spare honda head laying around that they were going to throw out and if I wanted it I could have it. I come there to see a D16Y5 full head with injectors, manifold, the whole nine. He tells me to take it so I did. Now I did a lot of research on the head and I'm aware that it is not the best VTEC head around, but it will be 10x better than my stock D15B2. Now since I've been waiting to find something like this to come my way, I am on a budget being a full time student and not too much time to work. For this to work on my 89 civic sedan I was wondering if all I needed was the ECU from a Y5 and wiring harness. Just a little direction on any other small parts I might be missing. thanks a bunch
No, you don't. Search up mini-me. I personally like the y5 head, when it was in my boosted set up. Are you going to go obd1 or stay obd0. You can run the head with the pm6 with your dizzy modified to work with the head. (Assuming that you are already mpfi)
obd1 or obd0 which ever is easier to get this head to work easier. I know I don't really want to cut corners but I am on a budget. So I can use a PM6 ECU with stock wiring harness ? I am familiar with the mini me swap and wiring up the 2 extra injectors to the resistor box and back to the ECU. Thanks
