ported another stupid neon head
i know u guys just love seeing my other than honda port work so i thought i would throw some more up. this is going on native sons outlaw neon. little story behind this head. so len bought this head used form some guy and contacts me to port it. its already got some port work done to it but he didnt know by who. well i get the head and pull it out of the box and what do u know, its the very first head i ever ported, and had still never been used since i sold it (which was about 5 years ago) and man did it look like **** compared to what my work looks like now. anyways so i went all out on this head. the guides were already cut flush with the port roof cause thats what i did back then and there was so shotty chamber work so i cleaned them up to. well anyways i didnt flow this head but based on what other heads of mine have done i put the numbers on this head at approx 320 cfm on the intake @ .500" and 240 cfm on the exhaust @ .500". hopefully this head will do wonders for him. heres the pics........

wow, now this man knows how to port!!. Hey when i port out my skunk2 manifold should i make it look like that inside and reshape the runners like a velocity at the end??. Also should i flow bench it too??
thanks guys
are u talking about cutting the plenum open and doing the work in there? i reqally not following ur first question and flowbenching it is up to u. it will need to be bolted to a head and flowed through a head just fyi and also if u wanna see if there are gains ur gonna need to flow it before u port it also u know.

hey all motor mike i live in chandler and got a gsr swap, didnt mean to steal a spot on the thread but i noticed u are in az!! anyways just wondering what it would cost me to port and polish my gsr head?? u can pm me or on here is fine!!!

Did you do a 3-angle valve job? Sorry for noob question I dunno what to look for on the valve to tell if its be done or not. It sure looks reeaall shiny sir, good work.
the valves only get one cut which is the sealing cut and in this case it is 44 degrees, but u can put a back cut on them also to help with flow which these do have so they are cut twice but fyi when somebody says 3 or 5 angle valve job they are referring to the number of cuts on the seat. in this case the seats are 3 angles on both sides.

in order.......
i dont know if they use the same angle as the b series heads or not to tell u the truth, from the oem they probably do, i think most cars now days use 30/45/60 seat cuts actually. once the throats were bored on this head there wasn much room left to get more then 3 cuts on the seats.
in stock form a b18 head flow about the same as one of these heads. the 2 stock heads that i had flowed did 248 in. and 168 ex. on the neon head and 251 in. and 190 ex. on the b18c head.
i know, its super gay right
ive been on here for a while sir, i do mostly neon and 4g63 heads, but i did do a d15 head for my machinist, wanna see it? its was just a quick clean up job took me about 6 hours.
thanks, yes these engine have lots of potential, when it comes to making lots of naturally aspirated hp hondas are at the top of the list no questions asked, second imo are neons (not srt's) and then i really dont care after that.

oh and i forgot to tell u guys that the numbers above were made at .500" lift and 28" h2o on a superflow 600. and i started another thread about the d15 head.

stock numbers are up above, this one didnt get flowed though, its a guesstimate off of what my other heads flow vs what work is done to them. it could be lower it could be higher. i think its a pretty conservative number.

i just titled it that cause thats what most people think about neons, i could care less personally but i thought the guys on here would like it a little better lol.
