Relocating Seats
I want to keep my stock seats, but I can't put the seat back far enough to be truly comfortable in my RS hatchback. Has anyone ever fabbed, or know of someone that relocated stock seat mounts? I'd rather have something bolt in so I don't have to make a drastic change to the car, although I realize the right rear bolt goes into the floorpan.
I did search, but didn't find what I was looking for in the forums.

I fabbed some new mounts for my GSR seats...wasn't too hard. They were too high for me, so I cut off the brackets at the spot welds (the small L shaped portion that connects the rails to floor), and replaced them with 1/8 "x 2" steel strips. I bent them to the correct angle and used the old ones as a guide for hole location. Drilled new holes where the welds were and used 2 hardened 5/16" bolts on 3 corners. On the side that bolts to the floor, I just cut off the block that was there and bolted it up normally. Did it all with a vise (+ a nifty magnetic bending tool that was used in conjunction), a hacksaw, and a cordless drill. If I did it again, I would want a cutoff wheel, because there were many hours spent cutting and drilling (Make sure you have a sharp bit, preferably Colbalt!)
I would imagine you could just do the same thing, and extend it back a little bit with some creativity. Keep in mind the implications of the needed strength in an accident. I feel pretty confident in my method, but it isn't as strong as stock. If you'd like some pictures, let me know and I'll snap some for you.

Thanks for the reply, I am a little worried about removing the stock mounts only if I sell the car at some point. Your average Integra driver is probably not all legs and 6'5"; therefore I want to be able to return the seat to stock.
I may try to post in the welding and fab forum, because I'm sure people with racing buckets have fabbed new mounts plenty of times. I just want to be able to move my seat back 3" or 4" more!

Yeah, I was worried about that also, but because the bolts go through the old spot welds, you can actually bolt the old pieces to get it back to stock. Otherwise, a new set of stock rails is like $50 shipped. You might want to consider getting an extra set anyway if you're that concerned about getting it back to stock.

See my prior post, 6'5" and mostly legs. I have to drive with my legs straddling the steering wheel and my feet sideways which can make it difficult at times. I thought about a smaller steering wheel, but that isn't going to help as much as moving the seat back a little bit more.
It's actually really hard on my knees, but I just don't want to get rid of the car!

6' 2" for me...lowering the seat fixed helped a lot. Although I do drive with my right foot on a pretty steep angle to the right. Kind of got used to it that way, but I would neeeever be able to learn to heel-toe in my car, that's for sure.
This is another reason for my dilemma. I can heel toe, but it is awkward and sometimes my leg gets jammed under the steering wheel. It is simply a PITA to deal with, and I'm seriously considering a different vehicle.
