what is 2step take off??
2 Step is pretty much launch control. Useful for Drag racing. With 2 Step you can set a RPM to rev at and Launch from there without having to feather it at the desired RPM. You can initiate Launch control by simply holding down the clutch. You can still rev freely without holding the clutch down. Hope thats good accurate info!
its only sometimes activated by the clutch switch if wired up that way, usually like how they set it up in just chipped ECU's are by speed. If the car is completely stopped, it will limit the revs for launching, regardless of clutch switch input(but if your speedometer does not work, u will always be limited to that rpm, even whilst driving).ECU's such as the hondata s300 and others u can use the clutch switch as well, and theres a speed parameter still too.

Or on Hondata you can set Launch Control to Always be on, and it will turn off once you are going over 6mph (which is also adjustable).
But if you are just getting it to sound cool...well....meh.

it depends on ur setup and what ur doing with it. I had the 2step on my chipped ECU which u should know where u need it first cuz u cant change it. i outgrew just a regular chip with my motor so im on the Hondata S300 now and still run a 2step launch control(which is reprogrammable thru a laptop) but like the last guy posted, if its just for the sound, u arent going to want to spend big bucks on the S300. If its for drag racing(at the track!) then it can be very useful, if its just to have it, well then it can cause trouble when a cop thinks ur sitting there trying to rev up to race someone(no, this hasnt happened to me, i dont rev my car for no reason)
My Neptune 2step work like this. With your foot on the clutch, rev up to your Desire launch RPM (6K) then floor the gas pedal all the way down and hold it. The ECU will hold it at 6K rpm as long as my foot is floor on the gas pedal. When I want to go, I just release the clutch pedal. I love the 2-step on my turbocharge car since you get almost full boost at launch but it does damage the turbo over time.
