Default B20B and my 96 integra , have some ?'s

Well I understand this topic has been beaten to death . From what I have read is this motor will drop right in wiring , trans , and all. I called local japan engine supply guy today , and he claimed that on the 96 JDM B20B's the oil pump is missing the crank angle sensor. And that I would have to swap over my LS oil pump. Any truth to that ? I think this guy has no clue what he was talkin about in the first place. Any help or links to other threads about the install are greatly appreciated. thnx

true, I have jdm b20b and it don't have crank angle sensor but you really don't need it unless your running an ls ecu "check engine light".

well I still need to pass safety and IM here in Utah. Will running a obd1 ecu compromise that ? I would really rather stick with my stock ECU to save from any headaches.

the crank angle sensor don't effect emmission if you have obd2A unless the they won't pass you b/c you have a check engine light

yeah I won't pass because of the check engine light . they will plug my car into the reader as well no matter what. So simple solution is swap over the LS oil pump from my stock motor ?

You need to swap oil pumps and crank angle sensor. Also you need to swap intake manifolds as the one on the B20 is too high and not the same.

I would suggest just calling around to local junk yards to see if any of them have a 96-00 Integra engine for sale.

I just put one in my friends 96 integra. It had a B20 in it which I put in 3 years ago but finally blew up due to no oil.

I have my stock engine still so getting a pump and sensor are no biggy. Are you saying to just get a B18B instead or contact local yards for parts ?

the JDM dizzy usually has this sensor and if you knew what wires went where you could splice and be good. i just bought a 97 JDM ITR and had the same swap issues. since i'm using a USDM p73 ecu ,the crank sensor, vtec and dizzy were mandatory changes. if you do change the pump make SURE you use the USDM crank sprocket too. the JDM one is not designed for a crank sensor and you will pull your hair out trying to figure out why it isn't working.
