97 F22b1 have a knock sensor?

Just wondering if my F22b1 in my 97 cl 2.2 has a knock sensor (basically an obd-II F22b1 accord). I want to monitor knock somewhat and this would help if I hook it up to my SAFC2.

Great. Do you know the best place to tap into on a F22b1 block? And do you know which Hondas or other cars came with knock sensors (I'm going to try going to the local yard and get one). I might just do it.

Why would you want to add a knock sensor? I dont understand why you would want or need to add one to a motor that has no provisions for one.
If the car is stock, it was designed without and accordingly has no need for it.
If modified... the knock sensor is not going to be nearly as accurate, a modified motor makes more "noise" that will give you false knock counts. a knock sensor is not an exact science, its a piezoelectric device that prodcues voltage based on engine "noise" or so to say the shock waves of the motors combustion which stressing it... so you cant just say well this voltage and above is now knock. At a certain voltage threshold and above is deemed knock in a stock engine, based on extensive testing... in a modified engine, that threshold voltage can be much different. This is not to mention the position of it on the motor will affect its readings as well.

I'll keep pulling plugs and also making sure my AFR's are in a good range.

I am a boosted f22b1 as well... I dont use a knock sensor either but I also dont tune my setup myself, have it tuned by a pro on the hondata s300/ p28 setup I run.
I probably should go back and clarify a little bit by saying that I am not saying it could not work and be useful... but that there is alot involved. Its going to be a bit of experimenting to find what truely would be the knock voltage threshold in your modified application. If you could log the output of the knock sensor, it could be helpful but the feedback from it would not be something I would solely rely on (which it does not sound like you are looking to do that).
Checking you plugs and keeping an eye on your other readings is going to be your best bet for simple method. The f series no not seem to react the same to timing as b series or even h series... so I COMPLETELY understand why you would want to think about any methods of getting an edge tuning a tricky motor like ours.
Another random thought, if you do decide to experiment with knock detection. you might want to start by looking into a cheaper and easier method that does not require you to drill anything. You can try making a det can or if you wanna spend a little more you can use an electronic amplified listening device (from modified hearing aids to a device called chassis ear, lots of things have been used.)

Wow, I never knew about these det cans, but it sounds like a good, easy way and cheap way to do this. I did some searching on HT after you posted and this looks like just what I'm looking for.
