looking at going to a 15x10 and run 26x10 instead of 26x8.5x13 but wondering how fast as someone gone with the 13" we ran 10.2@150

 

I was thinking of getting the 26/8.5/13's> how well do they hook?

 

im only running single boost control so lots of boost in 1st can still get 1.61 1.68 60ft
need to hit 1.51 1.55 this year

 

how much boost in 1st?

big slicks are tough on drivetrain parts so just make sure they are up to the task. as for M&H tires I loved my 24.5x8.7x15 on my ITR so I cant wait for 13's on my hatch

 

what's the big difference between 13" wheels and 15" wheels? lets just say 24.5 X 8.5 X 15 or 24.5 X 8.5 X 13...... just wondering

 

I think the only diff is one has more side wall?

 

Man there is alot of sidewall in a 26x8.5x13, I couldnt imagine the floaty feeling going down the track in that tire with low air pressure.

 

the 26x13 has same if not very close to the same sidewall as a 28x15, mine was rock solid at 150mph and 5.5psi, the 26" from m&h as stiffer sidewall "still very soft.."

im running 30-35psi on Vw engine so when i launch i can reach alot of boost wich is why im spinning, this year will have boost/gear control.

would like to run a wider tire im sure that would help, wich is why im asking how fast as anyone gone with these tires, if im fighting a handicap ill switch to 26x10x15, new tranny is geared on 26"

 

I went 9.76 on them the first time out. I was scared of breaking drivetrain parts and was running 12psi. I managed to get a 4.30 330ft on that pass. The funny thing is, the car had engine issues at the time and was down about 10mph! These tires are absolutly incredible! Since having my engine issues straight, I have broken drivetrain parts on them. Now, all of my issues are straigthened out and I should be able to use them to there full potential. MH FTW!

no problem. hopefully, pretty soon i should have some very low nines on them. i haven't even got to put them to the test yet. they hook so good they have broken something every time out.lol

 

what parts do you break most?

 

axles. i went through about 4 sets when they had material issues. i bought the pro level axles and broke both of them. they had a machining problem and it should be fixed when i get them back today

 

You'll be able to do better than that. My car did consistent 1.48 60' and Joel's did 1.49 with almost no time on the car. Tires were 26X10 MT on 15x9" wheels.

 

i guess im cautious in the predictions i would hope to do better, considering we did 10.2 with 1.86 60ft. wheelie bar set up is new too me so will see,, we have alot of sidewall but not has much width. will see very soon gears are in on tuesday, turbo next week, rest of car is 90% done, car will be back on dyno mid late feb
