difference in motor sounds USDM, JDM, high or low comp piston?
my JDM B16a under WOT sounds like a beast its stock. Really throaty deep until it hits VTEC then it screams but the motor is louder then the exhaust which is stock
My USDM GSR motor which was rebuilt bored sleeved and fitted with low comp pistons does not make this noise. Its quiet and is more high pitched when I go WOT. with a Greddy EVO iV exhaust. Is this just because of the low comp. piston combo they are 8.5:1.

y did u go with low compression pistons?? r u going turbo?? r u talking about vtec engagement b/c a gsr has secondary vtec which engages 2 times instead of 1 big time like a b16. that may be wat ur talking about but also depends on ur intake usually short ram intakes make ur motor sound louder.

The port shape and # of valves will determine the sound and it sounds the flipping same once you do the same thing .
I always noticed the intakes on the B16's were louder than GSR's.....especially in VTEC. Same goes for the GSR exhaust being louder in VTEC that the B16's......not sure why but it is what it is!
