I've done some searching and wanted to build a paint booth in my 3300 sq ft shop. I don't have the money to go big, but I don't really care for the dust particles I'm seeing everytime I paint!!!!

I've seen one paint booth in the search made of pvc and vinyl....nothing else though. Post what you've seen or built. Also post any info on ventilation needs, and any ideas like furnace blowers or filter elements you can. Lastly, post any environmental additions that can be made to reduce the impact of a homemade paint booth!!!

Let's get it started! I'll post more as I find it via google.

once I made a temp booth with plastic sheeting. I was kinda proud of myself, but was no where near a good booth or a permanent solution.

I think you can make a really nice spray booth with pvc pipe and vinyl sheeting or something like that.

A trip to the nearest home improvement supply store can give you some nice ideas.

 

i have a homemade booth. its kinda like a gazebo tent to cover us from the sun during summer. but adding tarp all around it with the garage closed its a booth. (with water on the garage door so paint fumes dont stick on there) ive painted 4 cars in there with a paint gun..

man you can buy a used paint booth for like 2k, some brand new partial downdrafts are going for 5k. granted thats not cheap nor are they top fo the line, but they beat plastic any day of the week and last forever. but if you have that big of a shop, might as well utilize the space for it. of course youll have to assemble the booth and such and you wont get any of the goodies like a heater and line dryers,etc.
