Anyone here involved with WWSCC?
wwscc.org
I'm really interested in getting into auto-X / Solo II, was looking at this site. Had some questions, wondering if anyone could give me some tips in getting involved.
Thanks

wwscc isn't really a club, per say - they're more of an umbrella organization for the clubs in the seattle area, namely the nwr-scca and bscc. although, the early season slush events are classified as wwscc events. i'll see ya up at bremerton in a few weeks if you make it out to the first one!
I drove from Bellingham to Bremerton for the first slush even any years ago....it was pouring down rain and I was on bald V700's.....that was a wasted trip
Bremerton events are usually a blast though

I used to go to Bremerton every once in a while. It was a lot of fun. It's a bit of a drive now, since I moved away from Shelton. Was really a blast though.
Thanks for the input guys, really appreciate it. So how do I go about getting involved? Their website says just show up, is that all I have to do? My car is pretty much stock, which I know is okay, but is there ever any class restrictions (as in they'll only be running cars from classes X,Y & Z at an event but not A,B,C)?
I've got a decent set of tires, but nothing really high end, do you think they'll hold up?
Also I don't have a helmet, does it cost to borrow/rent one for the day?
Sorry for all the questions, I've got a million of them. I realize it's probably best to just show up and try, but I just want to be as informed as I can be beforehand. So I don't forget anything important or do anything stupid.
Again, thanks for the help. Very much appreciated.

It helps to preregister, and it's usually cheaper too. Pick a number you like, because it's yours for the season.
And they do have loaner helmets, but they are limited. If you borrow one from a friend, make sure it's SNELL certified (DOT doesn't mean **** to them), and make sure the certification isn't expired.

Hit up a motorcycle shop, or buy one from Safedrives.com. The certification is just like that on racing harnesses and seats. If they're certified, they eventually expire and you have to have them "recertified" by the factory, or just buy a new one.
I have the Snell Sa2005 certified helmets starting at $149
