if its running rich it would be black smoke not white
white=coolant
black=fuel
blue=oil
and there can be a number of reasons your car is running rich.a high temp thrmostat wont make it run rich

this is also my problem. it only takes me 180-190 miles before the next full tank. have you checked the o2 sensor? i'm planning to buy an o2 sensor but i'm still saving up (damn the oem is so expensive! might try the bosch one)
same problem with my car, CRX DX. it has oil leaks from the valve cover gasket which i will repair soon but has no effect on performance on car. car doesnt burn oil but does leak some. fumes smell nasty obviously. but cant be coolant since my cars temp never rises past the halfway mark and coolant isnt disappearing. my ignition timing is not perfect but i also have a freakin auto ecu since the engine code is flashy faulty auto trans. i know i did my walbro fuel pump, so maybe the regulator is going bad. might as well upgrade to mpfi
heater sensor? where is this located? i'm still a noob so please understand. would it be wise to buy the bosch for now to save me fuel until i have saved up for the oem? thanks

O2s can go bad and not throw a code. I've had it happen on two different occassions when getting the car smog checked. Sometimes they get 'lazy' and don't completely die.
