I was planning to buy an Accord in the future, but I want to see if I could get some info first. The only question I have is what is the difference between EX and LX.

 

I am not sure as to what model years you are talking about.

But the usual differences between the two are Leather seats, sunroof, and more powerful engine ( VTEC ).

 

didn't the ex come with a single disk player as well? Not to mention power seats.............

The EX (4 cylinder) had power seat height adjustment, moonroof, ABS, VTEC engine, different exhaust tip, Alloy wheels, 4 wheel disc brakes, etc.; whereas the LX did not.

Leather was an option on the EX.

Starting in 1996, was slightly different body styling (inside and out), and was OBD - II. (94-95 was OBD-I)

 

EX gets the f22b1 (145hp sohc vtec), 5 speed had slightly changed gearing to better suit the engine, power sunroof is standard I believe, optional leather, power driver seat, better 15" alloy wheels, EX lips, power locks/ windows/ mirrors/ cruise control all standard of course, abs was standard (optional on lx), disc brakes all way around, rear swaybar (larger front swaybar?), etc... someone correct me but those are the main things.

 

All the power from the vtec will make you **** your pants!

 

I never said anything about "UBER PANTS SHITTING POWER" I said more powerfull, Like 5 - 15 hp.

 

The only people who may "soil their pants" driving a Vtec Accord would be the geriactrics who've forgotten to wear their 'Depends'.

Basic overview, since these guys got it pretty much spot on, is that the Accord is kinda like the mid-range Honda (Acura getting into the high-performance type). as far as EX/LX the EX is the Cadillac of accords...the LX is like the Mid-range model (but most features are standard accord setups)

 

i have a 94 lx and a 95 ex. depending on what your going to do the ex is all around better. it does have a larger front sway bar and larger front brake discs. and not only is the vtec a little more powerful, but if you know how to drive it my ex gets MUCH better gas milelage and it is more worn out..

 

Hey, i got a 96 accord lx and a 95 accord ex....The 95 ex is in bad shape but the engine is good......so i want to change my motor in the 96 lx to a vtec motor.....what will i have to do and what procedures should i take in getting everything to work correctly???

btw I have something to add to this failthread.


The rear seats in the EX have a compartment that folds down insiide of the seat to give you access to the trunk without having to fold the seat.


The EX also has a 1" Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir.

 

wrong. The wagon and V6 have bigger brakes. LX/EX are the same.

only the EX has VTEC.
