b16a jdm motor swap

Default b16a jdm motor swap

im looking to buy this engine http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30005 to put in my 97 ex coupe all stock.

i was talking to hmotorsonline technician and he said it would bolt right on but the only problem would be with the wiring. im sure some of you guys out there have done swaps like this. can anyone help me out with the wiring issure?

You've actually kind of got it easier than most. being that your car is an ex you already have the connections for the vtec pressure switch, and the vtec solenoid. So basically all you need as far as wiring is concerned is an ecu jumper harness so that you can plug the p30 obd1 ecu they send you into your obd2a car.

wat about wiring for the knock sensor and stuff

the guy i talked to said that wouldnt match up

you may have to run a wire directly to the ecu for that, because nowhere online can i find someone offering a subharness to give you that wiring.

just boost the D that comes in the ex.......it will be faster then the b16 guaranteed

Your going to need a jumper harness for the ecu and a jumper harness for the distributor. Everything else should plug up just fine. The only plug that should be left is the crank position sensor, which the jdm b16a doesnt have so the ecu isnt going to throw a code for it. On your harness you can just leave it unplugged or cut it off. Oh and i almost forgot, your going to have to find a obd1 (any 92-95) alternator plug and wire it inplace of your obd2a alternator plug.
