That's really descriptive. What are your goals and what are you planning to use this setup for?? You need to give a little more info if you want some answers...

I like the GSR block way more. Because of the Oil squirters and main cap girdle. Its basically hondas race block.

Either the LS/VTEC or the GSR will work for your goals. A simple piston/rod GSR would easily make your power goals, but if you want a little bit more displacement, you could opt for an LS bottom end or an LS crank in the GSR block. I personally opted for an LS bottom end and re-used my GSR head. Also, the oil squirters in the GSR block aren't needed with aftermarket pistons and rods. Most people opt to plug them once the bottom end is build. GE makes a nice little kit for that reason...

they are actually more for cooling that oiling. on a forged piston they arent needed.

^^beat me to it. Also, if you use the LS crank in the GSR bottom end, you have to get rid of the oil squirters or the crank will do it for you. There isn't clearance for them...

Sure, cooling and oiling are good things; however, those systems were put in place due to the stock components needing both cooling and lubrication. Since aftermarket slugs dont need that, you're better off plugging the oil squirters and keeping oil pressure for other places that it could be put to better use.

Unless you do what some of us do and run gsr main girdle on the ls block simple line bore fix's and issues..

X2 oil squirters are only needed with oem internals...Pistons like JE don't require the squirters since they are forged...

LS=longer stroke=more power just my .02

yeah, so by plugging the oil squirters it re-routes the oil pressure to places, like, say..the head.. right?

nice! See the guy i bought the car from told me that he had a LS that ran for $400.00... but then i started looking into it, he said he would sell me a GSR head for 650... that along with everything else i will need..wont that be more than the price of a GSR?.. im just trying to see whats more cost effective.

What is the downfall of retaining the squirters in a forged rod/piston setup? I ran both my b16a (died from oil starvation/over-revving) and now have a built GSR both retained the squirters. Perhaps I will have to consult with my builder about this.

The problem with retaining the squirters is that it diverts important oil flow and pressure to an area where it is completely useless. I'm not going to say that it caused your oil starvation problem, but it could have been a factor in it. Personally, i would get rid of them when the block is open

Sounds like the plugs would of helped save your motor, oil to the main/rod bearings is needed alot more than to forged pistons..

Yes they make the plugs....

The oil squirters is more for the bottom of the piston, not the bearings.
