so i wana paint my valve cover with the rising sun.
duno if i should go red/white or red/black my car is red.
what kinda paint would be best for it?
any tips on getting good straight lines and as close to a perfect circle as possible.
there was an "official paint your own valve cover thread" on the old forums but i cant find it anymore.

any temperature paint will work.
how hot does your engine get? I havent seen any automotive spray paint that isnt rated high enough, and Ive used it all, even touch up paint for the exterior of a car without any issue.

i have some caliper paint. im pretty sure my brakes get hotter than my valve cover. is there anyway to get near perfect lines on a valve cover with all the ridges and stuff
You saw the one I did at that honda-tech meeting didn't you. Took me a little while to tape it off, and I used dupont automotive paint, with an etching primer over the bare metal, and then a small layer of 2k primer, and then white base, then red base, then shaved the paint off the lettering, then cleared it. Cost me about $50 to do it. Now it's on my buddy's hatch. I traded it off when I got rid of my built Ls/vtec I had.
i would go with red/black, because it probably easier to clean
if it gets dirty..and just use a high heat or caliper paint and
should work fine, also make sure you sand it good enough
and have no grease on the surface..hope this helps and good
luck.
