put together motor NO VTEC!!!!?????
i just put my engine back together and theres no vtec kicking in ... its my stock b18c1 block with a itr head stage one cams skunk2 intake mani ect ect but there is no vtec kicking in .... the wiring is good the solenoid is getting oil and the oil pump was good before i did the head change ... ANY IDEAS ????
First check that
speedo is working
Then put a check light on the ecu vtec wire pin.
Test drive and check the light come ones.
Next move the test light to be wired just before the solenoid.
If it works then there something wrong with the oil pressure or solenoid.

Nope
Speedo works
we wired a light directly to vetec and it worked
in hondata s300 you can see the tables kick over

----We're so stumped!
-If you unplug the vtec from the solenoid it troughs a vtec engine code.
-It's not the ecu because we have hondata s300 and you can see the secondary tables turn over when vtec is suposed to kick in.
-We have even tried to use different ecu's
the gsr vtec worked before we pulled the head
i had the same problem... I cleaned out the solenoid with a air gun then put it back on worked fine...
BUT MY FRIENDS EG6 WITH LSV HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS AND COME TO FIND OUT IT WAS INSIDE OF THE SOLENOID WHERE THE WIRE WENT IN WAS CRACKED AND SHORTING OUT... I DONT KNO IF THIS IS ANY HELP??? IT SEEMS LIKE YOUVE TRYED EVERYTHING SHORT OF PULLING THE HEAD BACK OFF AND MAKING SURE NOTHING IS CLOGING THE PORT HOLES FOR OIL TO THE SOLENOID??? MAYBE???BUT YOU SAID THAT ITS GETTING OIL... GOT ME STUMPED... MAYBE IT DOSE NEED SOME HIGH AIR PRESSURE TO CLEAN IT OUT??? LMK IF U GET IT FIXED... IM WONDERING NOW...

Have you checked the O-Ring to see if it clean?.
On electrical connectors ONLY, I was told to spray some WD-40 as it works as an electrical contact cleaner. I have sprayed in on my distributor cap and coil. No harm.
I too am having problems with my VTEC. It works on and off. Any other suggestions?

sounds like the head shop put your rocker arm shafts in backwords... if they are in backwords than the oil pressure ports in the shafts arent able to supply oil to the rocker arm lok pins thus the rocker arms cant lock up to motion with the vtec lobe.... you guys maid me join honda-tech just to type a response to this lol lets see if i enjoy this site i come from floridahondacrew.com
