there has to be another way besides drilling. as for trunk why trunk? i can get into my car and open drivers dooor ...etc... but passenger dooor is not opening either from outside or inside.
Like I said.
Do a search, it's some issue with the lock, you take off the door panel, take off the plastic weather guard and then drill a point on the lock, it opens, you replace the lock with a new working one.

The panel is held on by a series of clips and screws.
The screws are located behind the speaker grill, the interior relase handle trim and other locations. Once you get all the screws addressed, along with the armrest, the clips will just pop out and release the panel.
What happens next will be determined by what you find

The only other recourse you may have is to modify a SlimJim (official B&E tool) and see if you can hook a release lever on the lock to pop it open.
Other than that and I've no other suggestions but to see if a local bodyshop has an answer.
I had the same issue with my accord what happened was this piece that looks like a hanger fell out off place but it's gonna be a PITA to get the panel off.
take the door panel off theres just enough room to do it but barely, what you have to do is take off all the screws the mirror cover roll the window all the way down from there pull the panel off from the top where the glass is and once it's loose pake a flat head screwdriver put it between the panel and door where the mirror is to pop the fastner loose. easy as pie! just that if you don't get the door open it's not going back on! but next time fix the little problem before it get this point where it's big pain.
Not specifically for your year but you can use it as reference. Just check out this site.
