Need help with HID kits
i rarely ever post here but i love reading on honda-tech and i have come to a question where i have to ask. i have a stock type r 2000 that my brother gave to me and i was wondering what kind of HID kits should i get for my car? the low beam lights suck, can i just pick up one off ebay and throw it in? any help would be appreciated. sorry in advance for the confusion.

I've had 8K and 6K (now) on my ITR prefer the 6K 100 times over the 8K. I had also done the 9005 to 9006 mod on my GSR before and hands down the HID Kit is much better. 90% of the kits are plug and play, if you can change your oil you can isntall the HID kit. GL
if you heard cuz they are not legal? i just got pulled over, no mention of the headlights lol
^ really? yeah i was wondering about the legal issues. in cali the rules are so odd.
one more question, your 10k bulbs do not force any glare to other incoming cars?

like i said the beam looks pretty stock so its projected out on the road, not just everywhere like i have seen on some other cars. i havent been high beamed or anything since putting them in. and the only comment i have gotten from my friends are that they just look sexy. maybe i will try to get a pic.
Retrofit's are nice but a bit more costly then a lot of the plug and play kits, I've noticed too that the stock projectors in our cars pretty good. Don't get me wrong I would love to do a retrofit but yea.

Integra projectors suck ***, both with halogen and with POS HID kits. I had a PnP kit in my car back in the day, with rebased Philips 4300K bulbs. It was total dog shAt compared to my current bi-xenon projector setup, and my particular projectors are pretty low-end as far as HID projectors go.
HID in stock Integra projectors put down a narrow beam, with really bad hot spots on the ground directly in front of the car, too close to the car to be of any use. That's where almost all the light goes, and not much anywhere else.
Ricer 10,000K bulbs would be even worse. That puts out about as much blue light on the ground as PIAA high-wattage halogen bulbs.

That last picture was taken nearly 5 years ago, with the same bulbs and ballasts still running strong. I'd like to see a cheap POS HID kit last that long. Highly doubtful.
Please do not waste your time and money on HID kits. Integra headlights are fairly easy to retrofit, relatively speaking. I would highly suggest that.

I installed them and they look nice as hell, not sure how long they will last but **** for $66 who cares haha

(still in progress after the re-build)

Looks good... again not everyone has the time or money to do the retrofit. The kit i currently have put's out twice as much light and further then the previous plug and play kit which I couldn't see **** in the rain with. That one lasted 3 years, good thing it doesn't rain too much here.
OP was just asking about plug and play kits. So some of us gave our experiences with the plug and play kits as you have. Glad to see your setup is still running good to this day.
like what someone else said, do not get anyting over 6000K or so. anything above that and the colour turns blue, which makes it worse. unless you happen to want blue HIDs.
