The class I'm racing in only allows street tyres. What's the best 60' time that I can hope for with a B16a on Azenis (185/60 x 14's) at 1910lbs (including me)???

Has anyone gone under 2 seconds on STREET tyres????

 

I ran 2.17s on my Kumhos, and 1.98s before on my BFG radials. The BFGs will qualify for street tires (since they are DOT approved).

yeah, i've had a few mid 1.9's.

 

1.9's on dot tires take some nice suspension and a very hard back springs i would think

 

best ever on my FROG was 1.89 on BFG's, usually was 1.95s ...

2.15 on Potenza SO-3's which aren't the best drag tires due to the ultra stiff sidewalls.

what car was this?? all motor, turbo???? what psi were your tires at and how did you launch the car???

1.87 in my RX-7 on Khumo Supra 712's. 255/35 ZR 17's.

 

actually thats pretty impressive getting an fd3s to hook up with 17's

Even t/t Supra guys use the stock fd3s wheels to put slicks on, then they grid the calipers to clear the wheel.

Yeah, not many people understood it. But I was actually cutting <2.0 60' times pretty consistently.

Rev it up to 7 grand and dump the clutch. I can't explain it, but it hooked almost every single time.


And shhhh,the FD slick/wheel thing is a secret.

 

jinx when you ran 10.70 what tires/slicks and size were you using??


ive seen a timeslip of a taurus SHO running 1.73 60 foot with a 15.88 1/4 time...

Well, last night I cut my best 60' and also ET.
Running open diff on 205/50/15 Azenis I ran a 2.002 60'

 

I cut a 2.085 on Bridgstone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions, they were 195/50/R15. When I do my LS swap i'm putting on some 205/50/R15 S-03's, they kick serious *** at the track (compared to most non-drag radials) and I can handle as good in the rain as most cars do when it's dry. I can't speak highly enough for the S-03's as an all-around tire, they're good at the track and good for everyday driving as well plus the tirerack.com has them on special all the time.

 

2.279 heavy 2000 si coupe...dunlop sp5000 all seasons...kosei k1 13.5 lb rims...energy suspension motor mount inserts..
