Is LSD good for me?
When swapping a B16 into my rex I have the decision of whether or not to purchace the LSD tranny, as most of you know. The only thing hindering my decision is the fact that I have been quoted a price of $850 or $1000 installed. I've been told that it takes 2 to 3 tenths off of your quarter mile time and aids in cornering. If I intend to use my car as a daily driver and occasional rice boy and/or domestic *** kicker is this really something I should invest in. I'm not supposed to touch the money I would have to use to get the LSD so I was hoping for some input from you guys. Any ideas, facts, or opinions would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks in advance.
read this page, http://www.howstuffworks.com./differential6.htm, and answer that question yourself.
As of right now I'm just gonna have the basic stuff added at the time of the swap, like clutch, headers, exhaust, intake, chipped ecu as the only real performance upgrades. With that setup will I really notice a difference with the LSD. Cause of course I tell myself now that I won't do too much more to the car cause it really isn't worth putting 8-10 grand on a car worth maybe 2 grand. I hate to say that but I'm trying to be realistic. I wanna hear from you guys without the LSD, how do your B16 rexs perform?
