autocross car class q
what would an engine swap do to my classification? specifically, a 92 civic hb with a b18c1 engine. i can't figure out what class i would be running in. i know that for solo1, my regional guy said i would be in ITC but i never heard from the solo2 rep. thanks.

Also, SM if you keep the interior (sans back seat). EM if your car is gutted.
what about if i put a b16a in there? these cars came stock in Japan so wouldn't that count as just up/back dating within the same car make and model? so wouldn't that be the same as if i was running a stock european civic SIR? btw, when i talked to my solo1 rep, he basically said he want's to make the classes fair. but i don't want to be in a position where i am dominating so they put me into ITE and now all the money i have spent is not even a competitive car ya know?
hell, in that case, why couldn't i update to a b16b? and isn't a b16b just a destroked b18c? so by that reasoning, is it legal to stroke a motor? then i could just run a b18c and say it is a stroked b16b? SOMEONE has to know this ****. if none of you know for sure, could you point me in the direction of someone (maybee an scca official) that would?

Yes, we know this ****. However, EDM and JDM don't count as a valid update/backdate in SCCA rules. Only USDM motors/parts and only if they are listed as ok in the rulebook (cars are on the same Street Prepared line).
Please read this link and maybe you'll get an idea of what you can/can't do. And remember, if it doesn't say you can, then you can't.
