Need Help with AutoX Classification
I am trying to see if this car is EP or another class.
1999 Honda Civic Hatch EK
K20A2 Engine
Gutted Interior
Thanks ahead of time. I read the rule book, but it doesn't say if the engine swap is allowed or not for EP

As far as I know you will be in EM. In EP you have to run the stock engine. You can do whatever you want to the engine as long as its the same cc and you don't change the induction. That is what they told me here and I run in EP.
What do you mean by gutted interior? Is it totally gutted, or just the back seat and some rear panels? You'd probably stand a better chance locally if you could manage to meet the Street Modified rules, and put portions of the interior back in to meet the rules in Street Mod.

what about XP?
Ive been in the same boat myself, the rule book is vague in stating where a swapped civic with stripped interior should be classified as. However will give you a clear cut answer as to where it is to be with a stock motor thoe. The replys i got was either im in XP or EM. It is like pulling teeth when you try to resolve the issue with the club and they cant even guide or put me anywhere near the right direction to a simple solution....

XP would work in my opinion (forgot about that class). However, you'll be horribly outclassed (worse than Street Mod) as XP allows full on slicks. I know some top level Prepared class drivers are running DOT tires, but under the right conditions, slicks are faster. Also, XP lets you do some pretty wcked things that'll cost a small fortune (not unlike Street Mod). If I were you, I'd put some of the interior back in and run in Street Modified. You're allowed to run the car at 1,600 lbs, as long as you keep your tires at 275 section width or smaller (FWD - 1,550 lbs, plus 125 lbs/litre (250 lbs) minus 200lbs weight reduction for 275 or smaller tires). Get the car down close to that weight limit and you'll have a very competitive car, even nationally.
