Well I was looking to buy a friends hatch its a 96 ek with a jdm H22A swap in it. He brought it by my house today so me and my bro can look at it a lil bit closer (leaks,cracks,all the yummy stuff you don't want) my friend told me that the heat does not blow hot air and the temp gauge moves a lil but it barely gets half way to normal temp, now the guy I guess who did the swap rigged the relay so the fan stays on in my head I'm thinking ok the fan isn't supposed to run all the time!? so my question to you all is what can be done so the fan runs accordingly I don't want to buy the car if in the summer its going to over heat. Does this have something to do with the swap it's self or is it a half *** job that wasn't done right...someone help!!!

 

Is the check engine light on? Sometimes ECT sensor could not be working properly

 

sounds like the fan switch is jumped, and it might not even have a thermostat. just straight up ask him, "does it overheat when the fan isn't running all the time? or..." and just see what he says/how he acts. could have a blown head gasket, or just needs a fan switch

 

Thats the problem the fan is on all the time, once you start the car the fan kicks on.
