I have a 1990 honda civic si with a zc sohc so which headers will give me more power and save me gas??

 

thats an oxymoron lol better headers depending if you already have a full cat back are going to make better air flow witch intern are going to need a little more gas i wouldent say its going to be noticeable but headers wont improve your gas milage but wont hurt it to where you will even notice

 

It's header, not headers. You only have one, not two.

You will only get 2, maybe 3 hp out of a decent header. What do you value more, power or gas mileage? I'm not saying you can't have both, but once you start craving more power, your gas mileage will not be as great as it would be on a stock motor.

 

actually depending on the setup (ie a fully built motor) a good header which will run you well over a grand, such as a sixsigma racing 4-1 Street Sweeper ... anyway, gains of up to 25 or 30 whp can be gained from a good header w a proper tune.

 

also inline pro makes some sick headers on the same level as six sigma racing

 

I am aware of that. The op has a sohc zc and asked for a header that would/could give him more power and better gas mileage.

 

imo with your location i would get a header with a CARB stamp on it like DC so you wont have to switch for smog. and if your in LA u know how bad smog is in cali. so just make sure its one with a CARB stamp on it.

 

25-30whp gain on a SOHC ZC? I hope you are talking about a new set of headers(yes, v-engines have two) on a new Z06 or something because that gain on a small honda 4-banger is never going to happen. I think a 2-3hp gain on a ZC is more realistic.

as for you my man dont talk **** unless you know what you are talking about saying this will never happen is just dumb, i stated on a fully built motor a real header not dc sport or some ebay pos will give you a ton of power sometimes up to 25 or 30 whp ive seen this on a street racing car w a k24 in it tuned w a kpro ' they made almost 30 whp w just the headers. b series prob gonna be a litle less but dont say 30 whp is imposible out of a ( 4 banger)once you actually have a reliable shop to talk to or do stuff you have no idea and inline pro holds more world records for hondas than anyone youve prob ever talked too

 

you guys will prob also tell me that w an all motor na car that 310 whp over 200 ft/lbs is impossible with a 4 cylender right
