Default header and gas mileage

quick question, friend has a 92 civic with a B7, and he gets 38 mpg constantly. he just ordered a header and an exhaust online, and he didnt know about the rising gas prices since he ordered it right before the hurricane hit. he is also going to gut the cat since the header is already out.

so the question is, will a header, gutted cat, and a exhaust make the gas mileage more worse if its driven normally? what i think is that there is less backpressure, and that means more power, but the injectors wont spray more fuel since its not modded, i may be wrong. thanks

when my b7 was in my car i didnt have a change in gas mileage with i/h/e and when i swapped a z6 in w/ the same i/h/e gas mileage didnt change and it wont until you play around with boost or fuel pressures, a cam, trans gears, bla bla bla. dont worry about it. and dont bother with the gutting cat it doesnt do anythign not worth it

Default Re: (95dxhatch)

those mods will just make it breath better,
so "more air + set ammount of fuel = more power ". but the amount of fuel doesn't change so it does'nt change the milage.
