Default gsr tranny problem or something else?

this is a eg hatch with a 99 gsr swap obd2-obd1 conversion
99 integra gsr transmission about 75k miles
never had a problem until one day i couldnt put my car in reverse... engine off and on and will still not go into reverse.... but sometimes it does but my chances of getting it in is 25% which really sucks... all i know is that i have a bad throw out bearing.. and i used cheap penzoil oil in my tranny.... and i have jdm gold shift linkage with a stock civic shifter... also the shifter moves like its in neutral when im in any gears..
NOTE: all my gears are fine except reverse
could it be synchronize problem in my tranny?
help out
thanks

i would change the fluid with honda manual transmission fluid... drive it around for a couple of hundred miles and change it again and see if that helps... usually when I can't put it in reverse, I'll put it in different gears ande try reverse again.. good luck man

need some serious help... could it be clutch or the gears on my tranny?

This could be cause of mechanical failure or the sloppiness in your shifter/linkage is so bad you can't properly get it into gear.

Have you jacked the car up to inspect? Have you had the ''bitch'' pin out of the tranny or maybe someone else replaced it with just a bolt?? Have you taken the linkage off recently? Is the linkage getting hung up on the heat shield?

Could be bad syncros, failing clutch disc or pressure plate.. I noticed you said you had a bad TOB.. i'm not sure if that would cause these results, but why have you not fixed it yet?

5th and reverse are part of the same sleeve set. I lost reverse and it would go into 5th but it didn't feel 100%. I had my local shop rebuild my tranny. 5/R set is cheap compared to 1/2 set. It was about $150 in parts from honda and $150 in labor to rebuild the tranny.

i dont have that kind of money as of right now to replace my clutch
i have inspected the shift linkage and taken out the "bitch" pin out.. they seemed fined
as of right now i took it to the shop and they called me back saying the problem is in the tranny.... i thought it was and it is and what a waste of 80 bucks lol

darn
gotta replace clutch(bad TOB) and tranny

quick question... SHOULD I GET MY TRANNY REBUILT OR GO BUY A USED ONE?
thanks

yea at first i lost my reverse.. chouldnt shift into it.. suddenly everything from my shifter are all wacky... i can still drive but when i shift it feels weird
i think:
lost 5th and reverse
1st feels like 3rd
2th feels like 4th
3rd feels like 1st(i can see my rpm going higher and feels like its downshifting) weird huh

my trans did that every day(the reverse thing) i found it helpful to put it in 2nd and let off the clutch move a lil bit forward and then put it into reverse...

as far as the shifter moving side to side... theres a piece in side of the trans where the linkage hooks to the trans... that rod on the end of it (inside the trans) has a peice thats bolted on with a 10mil bolt... when i took my trans apart (mine did the same thing) i noticed that the piece was broke and was stuck to my magnet inside of the trans... the piece acts like a stopper and i guess over wear the tall part on the stopper broke off and it can move the shift leaver freely while its in gear... it dont hurt anything unless you miss shift...

i did see one guy make a peice under his shift boot out of meatle that acted like a shift pattern to fix that problem with out pulling the trans and taking it apart and fixing the broke piece..

I HOPE THAT THIS INFO REALLY HELPED YOU OUT... YOU CAN PM ME AN ILL TRY TO TAKE PICS TO SHOW YOU WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT... YOU MIGHT HAVE TO WAIT ACOUPLE OF DAYS TILL I CAN GET SOME PICS FOR YOU BUT ILL TRY...

5TH AND REVERSE ARE NOT PART OF THE SAME SLEEVE SET... the reverse has its own lil shaft it sits on... and it has its own shift leaver that controls the gear movement from side to side...

it works like this....

you move you shift **** in to reverse, the linkage moves the shift rod inside of the trans, the shift rod moves the shift leaver, the shift leaver moves the reverse leaver to the left, the reverse leaver move the reverse spure gear on to the input shaft, then the input shaft moves the counter shaft, the couner shaft moves the diff.. the diff moves the axels and finally the axels moves the wheels...

well i found the problem.. it was the tranny shifter.. where it holds three 10mm bolts, i found two out of the place and attached to a magnet in the tranny... i believe that is the problem.. looked at my gears and there were pretty clean and no mark or grind on the gears.. but one thing i got a problem now is that i cant put the cover back into the gear it seems to be 1-2in high so i broked the aluminum case... lol guess i gotta go weld it.. its a lil crack
but any tips on how to put it back.. i know the snap ring but it hasnts reached to the ring yet so something is holding back the cover
